Artist's Description
Lover's Oak in downtown Brunswick, Georgia is estimated to be 900-years old and is recognized as being here at the time of the signing of the Constitution. It is reputed to have been the traditional meeting spot for young Native Americans.
About John Simmons
John Simmons has photographed the southeastern US for decades. He specializes in large format photography using cameras such as Speed Graphics and Sinars. Nikon cameras capture his digital images. He studied music at Georgia State University and Berklee and currently plays trombone, bass trombone, and tuba with the Coastal Brass Choir, the St. Simons Presbyterian Church Chancel Wind Ensemble, the Chamber Orchestra, and the Golden Isles Community Band.
