In 1973, people still flocked to the Whitehall Street shopping district (now Peachtree Street) in downtown Atlanta.
John Simmons has photographed the southeastern US for decades. He specializes in large format photography using cameras such as Speed Graphics and Sinars. Nikon cameras capture his digital images. He studied music at Georgia State University and Berklee and currently plays trombone, bass trombone, and tuba with the Coastal Brass Choir, the St. Simons Presbyterian Church Chancel Wind Ensemble, the Chamber Orchestra, and the Golden Isles Community Band.
