Artist's Description
Snow doesn't come often to Macon, Georgia, but in 1982 it covered the lawn of the historic Hay House. William Butler Johnston built the Hay House between 1855 and 1859. It was built in the Italian Renaissance style. It is named for the P.L. Hay family who last occupied it.
About John Simmons

John Simmons has photographed the southeastern US for decades. He specializes in large format photography using cameras such as Speed Graphics and Sinars. Nikon cameras capture his digital images. He studied music at Georgia State University and Berklee and currently plays trombone, bass trombone, and tuba with the Coastal Brass Choir, the St. Simons Presbyterian Church Chancel Wind Ensemble, the Chamber Orchestra, and the Golden Isles Community Band.
